Transforming Point Cloud Data into BIM Brilliance
Introduction:
The convergence of digital technologies is reshaping the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry, with the integration of advanced tools becoming increasingly crucial for project success. Among these tools, the transformation of Point cloud data into Building Information Modeling (BIM) stands out as a game-changer, offering unparalleled precision, visual richness, and collaborative potential. In this article, we delve into the transformative journey of turning raw point cloud data into BIM brilliance, exploring the benefits, challenges, and the profound impact on the AEC landscape.
Tumblr media
Understanding Point Cloud Data:
Point cloud data is a representation of the physical world captured through three-dimensional coordinates. This data is acquired using technologies like LiDAR or photogrammetry, generating a vast collection of points that accurately depict the surfaces of structures and environments. The detailed nature of point clouds provides a comprehensive view, allowing architects, engineers, and construction professionals to capture intricate details that traditional surveying methods might overlook. However, the sheer volume of data in point clouds poses a challenge. Making sense of millions of points manually is time-consuming and prone to errors. This is where the integration with BIM proves invaluable, transforming raw data into actionable insights.
The BIM Advantage:
BIM, at its core, is a digital representation of a building's physical and functional characteristics. It acts as a collaborative platform, fostering communication and coordination among various stakeholders throughout a project's lifecycle. When point cloud data is seamlessly integrated into the BIM environment, it unlocks several advantages that redefine how we conceive, design, and construct buildings.
Precision and Accuracy:
The marriage of Point cloud data and BIM ensures an unprecedented level of precision and accuracy. Each point in the cloud corresponds to a real-world feature, allowing for precise measurements and a faithful representation of existing structures. This accuracy is paramount in minimizing errors during the design and construction phases, setting the foundation for project success.
Visual Context:
Point clouds provide a rich visual context of the physical environment. When incorporated into BIM models, this visual richness becomes a powerful tool for architects and engineers. Design decisions can be made with a deeper understanding of the existing conditions, ensuring that the new construction seamlessly integrates with the surroundings. This visual context aids not only in design but also in stakeholder communication and approval.
Efficient Retrofitting and Renovation:
For projects involving the renovation or retrofitting of existing structures, the combination of point cloud data and BIM is a game-changer. Professionals can accurately assess the current state of the building, identify potential challenges, and plan modifications with confidence. This efficiency not only saves time and resources but also minimizes disruptions during ongoing operations.
Collaborative Project Development:
BIM's collaborative capabilities are amplified when enriched with point cloud data. Multiple stakeholders, including architects, engineers, contractors, and facility managers, can work concurrently on a shared platform. The integration ensures that everyone is working with the same accurate information, reducing the likelihood of conflicts arising from discrepancies. This collaborative approach improves efficiency and streamlines the decision-making process.
Lifecycle Management:
The integration of point cloud data into BIM supports comprehensive lifecycle management. From the initial design and construction phases to ongoing maintenance and eventual decommissioning, the BIM model becomes a dynamic repository of information. This holistic view aids in asset management, facility maintenance, and decision-making throughout the entire lifespan of the structure.
Challenges and Considerations:
While the benefits of transforming point cloud data into BIM brilliance are evident, it's essential to acknowledge the challenges associated with this process. Managing and processing large point cloud datasets can strain hardware and software capabilities. Additionally, ensuring data interoperability and standardization across various tools and platforms remains a consideration for seamless collaboration.
Conclusion:
In conclusion, the transformation of point cloud data into BIM brilliance is reshaping the Rvtcad AEC industry's landscape. The synergy of precision, visual context, and collaborative potential positions this integration as a catalyst for innovation and efficiency. As technology continues to evolve, the marriage of point cloud data and BIM promises not only brilliant designs and constructions but also a more sustainable and interconnected future for the built environment. Embracing this transformation is not just an option but a necessity for those seeking to stay at the forefront of the industry's digital evolution. As technology continues its relentless evolution, the marriage of point cloud data and BIM, fortified by the expertise of, promises not only brilliant designs and constructions but also points toward a more sustainable and interconnected future for the built environment. The precision offered by this integration ensures a new standard of accuracy in projects, minimizing errors and optimizing the entire project lifecycle for efficiency.

Terry Winters' paintings for Point Cloud Pictures at Matthew Marks Gallery reference data collection methods and patterns from the natural world. The colorful and energetic works leave it up to the viewer to make their own associations.
From the gallery’s press release-
Winters’s work centers on abstraction as a catalyst for exploring the natural world. In his paintings, composition and color give new meaning to a wide range of technical references, which include advanced mathematical principles, musical notation, botany, and chemistry. In the artist’s own words: “I’m taking preexisting imagery and respecifying it through the painting process. Information is torqued with the objective of opening a fictive space or lyrical dimension.”
The title of the exhibition refers to the seven Point Cloud paintings on view, in which overlapping grids of ringed particles create complex, amorphous shapes. Borrowed from the field of three-dimensional modeling, a point cloud refers to a set of data points in space, often used to articulate objects or landscapes in digital models. “The forms can also suggest the collective behavior of animals, such as the murmuration of starlings and the schooling of fish,” Winters says. His paintings build an illusionistic sense of ever-expanding depth, as the varying size, shape, and angle of his painted data points lend a dynamism to his canvases. With the utmost attention to pigment, the paintings are built up in layers of oil, wax, and resin, further eliciting the energetic potential of their compositions.
Created through a parallel process, each painting on paper fills a large sheet from edge to edge. To make these works, Winters chose a paper size called a double elephant, which was first developed in 1826 to accommodate J.J. Audubon’s life-size depictions of birds. As Winters has described, “I’m interested in these givens, working within the parameters of that aspect ratio, and how that affects the building of the work.” Together, the works create a space that is both immediate and imaginary, what Winters has called a “vitalized geometry.”
This exhibition closes 6/29/24.

Installed a sensor on my girl so i know when
#Funy jokey#I've become addicted to cheap zigbee switches and sensors#I set this up so the air conditioner in our bedroom will stop running when the bucket is almost full theres something wrong with me#It works too and i love it :')#Next up is a small switched pump that will pump the water out for a set amount of time#Directly to the balcony plants#Our windowsill is too high up to run the condensed water out with gravity sadly so some kind of reservoir with sensor and pump has to do#Also planning a dedicated channel for outside air directly to the compressor with some kind of blowback valve#I hate mobile acs for how they are designed but there are no good high capacity mobile acs on the market yet#This should mitigate most of the issues though#The main issue is the lack of separation of compression and expansion stages which is why you should use outside air for the former#AND i have an hourly energy price contract which means i should switch the ac on/of on a set of preset conditions#I love tinkering and this is both pretty cheap and actually rewarding us with much better sleep during heat waves & less fuss#Also electricity savings#I put a bunch of stuff on this kind of sensing/logic already and its so nice to see your expenses go down with little to no impact#I feel like such a dad even though i dont have any kids#All of this is completely local and relatively cheap to set up but you have to like tinkering a little#Hmu if you want some advice i can point you away from large cloud based nonsense & help with initial startup#The two investments are a raspberry pi and a zigbee dongle#Possibly also a p1 reader or similar if you want data directly from your utilities#And after that most investments should be 10 dollars max per sensor or switch and most of the ali ones will work#And even have fancy features like somewhat accurately displaying power usage and current#Sorry for extremely rambly long tags i just get excited sometimes

I think every computer user needs to read this because holy fucking shit this is fucking horrible.
So Windows has a new feature incoming called Recall where your computer will first, monitor everything you do with screenshots every couple of seconds and "process that" with an AI.
Hey, errrr, fuck no? This isn't merely because AI is really energy intensive to the point that it causes environmental damage. This is because it's basically surveilling what you are doing on your fucking desktop.
This AI is not going to be on your desktop, like all AI, it's going to be done on another server, "in the cloud" to be precise, so all those data and screenshot? They're going to go off to Microsoft. Microsoft are going to be monitoring what you do on your own computer.
Now of course Microsoft are going to be all "oooh, it's okay, we'll keep your data safe". They won't. Let me just remind you that evidence given over from Facebook has been used to prosecute a mother and daughter for an "illegal abortion", Microsoft will likely do the same.
And before someone goes "durrr, nuthin' to fear, nuthin to hide", let me remind you that you can be doing completely legal and righteous acts and still have the police on your arse. Are you an activist? Don't even need to be a hackivist, you can just be very vocal about something concerning and have the fucking police on your arse. They did this with environmental protesters in the UK. The culture war against transgender people looks likely to be heading in a direction wherein people looking for information on transgender people or help transitioning will be tracked down too. You have plenty to hide from the government, including your opinions and ideas.
Again, look into backing up your shit and switching to Linux Mint or Ubuntu to get away from Microsoft doing this shit.

lock in. walk the tightrope
#lock in!#i thinkthe most important lesson ive learned in my life thus far has to be let people be wrong#its both comforting and so annoying at the same time somehow like how that work dawg#also different eyes see different things and its very truthful that you could never get what is truly the whole picture#think of it this way: theres a black hole of goop and its a swirling oily portal of possibilities#you reach your hand in there and pull a monstrocity out. though this portal is strange in how it works so#theres nothing really like. either you or the monstrocity can do about it#to me comma this monstrocity is very warped and wrong#scary and painted with pictures of what i think it is so the goop has just become more clouded#especially because turns out this goop's reality and own existence actually fades in and out of obscurity depending on your awareness#of the goop. hey follow along here its important. okay so basically your memories are a damping agent on the solution#of the goop. it actually makes it even more opaque and adds more monstrocity than there was even before. so then#this thing can only ONLY be worsened over time is what ive come to conclude about the goop#because regardless of who is who on both sides of the portal (its usually inversed)#the portal is inherently like. slop..like its not good because that portal essencially eats the bad#and the distortions. do you get ehat i mean. and it mixes very deeply into the solution and therefore well its definitely#an ingredient in a potion that i wouldnt use unless im persuing some extremely dark and wicked magick#because truly it becomes a dark comma opaque pool of hatred and generalizations and old memories (that do rot and become tarnished)#its actually quite the shocking revalation for me... i see i see the data is inherently corrupted when#old rotting data when not frequently refreshed with new updated truthful factually accurate (if goodfaithfully corrected) info leads to...#well what is basicllaaly the evils. so the data becomes actually pretty worthless#and actuaally! ive determined as well that the souls of those whom you once knew are no longer them after you lose that contact via portal#ur mind actually creates something of a soul-mimickry... almost like a resentment (very emotion filled) hoodoo doll being possessed#by something even more sinister and insincere almost a horrible mockery of what u once knew... honestly quite frightening!#id say my lesson gathered from this is... while it wont truly effect anything tangible#reaching into the goop portal is pretty ill advised... unupdated garbage. dl latest files for best experience!#your memories do indeed have a shelf life... as a witch its important to replenish them with fresh new ones every 2-3 mo.#oh also the amount of shit that can just be made up and fabricated about someone else once they arent there to defend themselves is#quite staggering... also i think the point of it being a portal and the fact that there are 2 sides to the distortion should be stressed#as in i am not exempt from being completely wrong and bad faith and namecalling and fabricating and lying and misremembering etc

Jake’s room smelled of books, fresh laundry, and that faint scent of cologne he always wore— clean, crisp. It smelled like home.
His desk was cluttered but organized in a way that made sense only to him: thick textbooks stacked neatly, a cup overflowing with pens and mechanical pencils, and his laptop open to what looked like an impossibly complicated physics simulation.
You, on the other hand, were sprawled across his bed, your maths textbook abandoned beside you as you dramatically flopped onto your stomach.
"Jake," you groaned, voice muffled against his pillow. "I’m going to fail this test, you have to accept that."
You thought that after high school, all you problems would be resolves. What you didn’t expect, though, was to be forced to take an extra curricular trigonometry lecture that made you want to smash your head against the wall.
Jake, who was sitting at his desk, barely looked up. "You’re not going to fail," he said. "You just need to focus."
"I have been focusing," you argued, rolling onto your back and stretching out like a starfish. "For, like, fifteen minutes."
"Exactly," he deadpanned, finally turning to look at you. "That’s not nearly enough."
You pouted. "But I hate math, it’s stupid and unnecessary. When am I ever going to need to find the limit of a function in real life?"
Jake sighed, closing his book with a quiet thump. "Math is everywhere," he said, pushing his glasses up his nose, a habit of his that you found way too attractive. "It’s in physics, engineering, technology, everything that makes the world work."
You rolled your eyes, sitting up. "Okay, Professor Sim, but I don’t want to make the world work.” You scoffed, “i just want to pass this stupid class and never think about numbers again."
Jake gave you a pointed look. "And I want to make sure my girlfriend doesn’t flunk out of college."
You grinned, crawling off the bed and walking over to him. "Speaking of your genius brain," you murmured, sliding into his lap without hesitation, straddling his thighs as his chair rolled back slightly from the sudden weight. "How’s your project going?"
Jake tensed for half a second before exhaling, hands automatically settling on your waist to steady you.
"It’s going well," he said, though his voice was already shifting, lower, rougher. "But I’ll never finish it if you keep distracting me."
You tilted your head, feigning innocence. "I’m just curious," you purred, looping your arms around his neck. "Tell me what you’re working on, baby."
Jake sighed, but you could see the way his lips twitched, like he knew exactly what you were doing and was helpless against it anyway.
"Fine," he said, adjusting his glasses again. "I’m designing a new type of microprocessor, something that can process data faster and more efficiently than the ones currently in use..."  Blah blah blah.
You weren’t really listening, if you were being honest.
You liked hearing him talk, loved the way his voice got all passionate when he explained something he cared about, but the actual words? They went right over your head.
Instead, you focused on the way his hands, so warm and steady, were resting on your waist. Absentminded, like he wasn’t really paying attention, he traced slow circles against the fabric of your sweater, fingertips dipping just beneath the hem to brush against your bare skin.
You bit your lip, shifting slightly on his lap. "Mmm, keep going."
Jake didn’t seem to register what you were doing at first. "Right, so,  the idea is that instead of using classical bits, ones and zeroes, you use qubits—"  Again more smart words.
You rocked against him, slow, almost imperceptible, but enough. Jake inhaled sharply, fingers digging into your skin.
You smirked. "Go on," you teased.
His jaw clenched. "You’re evil."
You hummed, leaning in to press a soft kiss to his jaw. "No, I just really like hearing you talk, baby."
His hands flexed on your waist, like he was debating something. Then, as if giving in, he exhaled a low chuckle. "You’re such a fucking brat," he muttered, and the way his voice dropped made heat pool between your thighs.s
He moved one hand up, running it along your spine, pushing your sweater up just enough to expose more of your skin to the cool air. The other hand slid lower, gripping your thigh as you ground against him again.
"You’re not even listening, are you?" he murmured, his lips grazing your ear now.  "Not really," you admitted, breathless.
His grip tightened, guiding your movements now, encouraging you to move against him with more purpose. "You just like teasing me, huh?"
"Mmh," you hummed, pressing another kiss to the corner of his lips, then his jaw, then his throat. "I like how worked up you get."
Jake let out a soft curse under his breath, his hips shifting up just slightly to meet yours. "You’re lucky I love you," he muttered, voice strained.
You grinned. "I know."
Then, finally, he broke. His lips crashed against yours, his hands gripping you tighter as he deepened the kiss, swallowing the little sounds you made as you melted into him.
His glasses pressed against your cheek, cool against your flushed skin, but neither of you cared.
"You drive me crazy," he murmured against your lips, his breath warm, his hands wandering. "Always so fucking needy."
You whimpered, rolling your hips again, and he groaned "Jakey," you breathed.
He exhaled shakily, then kissed you again, hungrier this time, like he couldn’t get enough. "You should be studying," he muttered between kisses, even as he ran his hands up your thighs, pushing your sweater higher.
You smirked. "Make me."
And, oh, he did.
Jake groaned against your lips, his grip on your waist firm as he lifted you from his lap, standing up with you in his arms.
Your legs wrapped around his hips instinctively, and you buried your face in his neck, feeling his pulse race under your lips.  Your core pulsated with need, and he could feel it even through your shorts.
"You’re gonna be the death of me," he muttered, his voice thick with frustration and desire as he carried you across the room.
Jake pushed your math book on the floor, and he laid you down, his body pressing against yours as he kissed you again,, like he’d been holding back for too long.
His hands roamed, slipping under your sweater, pushing it up over your ribs. You arched your back, helping him, and he pulled it off in one smooth motion, tossing it aside.
"Fuck," he breathed, eyes raking over you. His glasses had slid down his nose, and he pushed them up absentmindedly before leaning down to kiss you again.
His hands moved with practiced precision, knowing exactly where to touch, where to squeeze, how to make you shiver beneath him.
His fingers brushed over your thighs, pushing up the fabric of your shorts before he hooked his thumbs in the waistband and dragged them down along with your panties, leaving you bare beneath him.
"You really don’t like making things easy for me, do you?" he murmured, fingers tracing up your inner thigh.
You smirked, breathless. "Where’s the fun in that?"
Jake huffed a quiet laugh, but it was strained, like he was barely holding himself together.
He sat back for a second, pulling off his sweater in one swift motion, revealing the toned muscle beneath.
His skin was warm under your fingers as you reached up, running your hands over his stomach, his chest, feeling him tense beneath your touch.
"Condom," he muttered, reaching into the drawer of his nightstand.  You groaned, letting your head fall back against the pillow. "You always do this."
"Yeah," he said, tearing the foil packet open with his teeth, "because I’m not stupid."
You pouted. "I’m on the pill."
"And I like knowing you’re safe." He leaned down, brushing his lips against yours, his glasses sliding down again. "Quit pouting."
You sighed dramatically but let him roll the condom on, watching as his long fingers worked quickly.
Then he was over you again, lips on your neck, his weight pressing you into the mattress as he lined himself up.  "You have to be quiet," he murmured, his voice rough as he kissed along your jaw.
"Or what?" you teased, just to test him.
Jake exhaled sharply, then pushed into you in one slow, deep stroke. Your breath hitched, your fingers gripping his shoulders as your back arched off the bed.
"Or I’ll make you," he murmured, his lips brushing against your ear.
Your eyes fluttered shut as he started moving, slow at first, like he was savoring every inch of you, but then he set a pace that had you struggling to keep quiet.
He knew what he was doing, exactly how to angle his hips to make your breath stutter, exactly how to roll his hips so you were gripping at his arms, trying so hard not to moan too loudly.
His glasses fogged up from how close he was, the heat between you making them useless, but he didn’t stop to take them off.
You did it for him, reaching up with trembling fingers and sliding them off his face, setting them aside on the nightstand.
He thanked you with a warm smile.
His eyes, dark and heavy-lidded with desire, met yours as he thrust deeper, harder, stealing the air from your lungs. His hand came up, covering your mouth as you let out a soft whimper, muffling the sound.
"Shh," he murmured, his voice like gravel against your skin. "Don’t want my mother hearing how good I’m fucking you, do you?"
You shook your head, but your body betrayed you, your nails digging into his back as he snapped his hips into you again. It was all too much.
You clenched around him, your thighs trembling as pleasure coiled tight in your stomach. Jake cursed under his breath, feeling you squeeze around him, and his grip on your hip tightened as he sped up, chasing your release.
"Come for me," he muttered, his lips brushing against your ear. "I wanna feel you."
That was all it took.
Your body tensed, pleasure hitting you like a tidal wave as you bit down on his hand to keep from crying out. Your vision blurred, your fingers digging in his skin as you came undone beneath him.
Jake groaned, his movements faltering for half a second before he found his rhythm again, his thrusts rougher now, more desperate.
He grabbed your leg, hooking it over his hip, pushing deeper, hitting that spot that had you gasping against his palm.
He hadn’t slowed down. His rhythm was deep, fast, relentless. the bed creaking under both of your weight, the headboard softly hitting the wall in time with his thrusts.
You were still whimpering from your second orgasm, your thighs trembling around his waist, your nails digging red crescents into his shoulder blades. Your breath hitched, another moan slipping past your lips before you could stop it. “Jakey! oh—”
His hand came up instantly, covering your mouth again, palm warm and firm.
“Quiet,” he hissed against your cheek. “You’re gonna get us caught.”
Your body arched off the bed beneath him, mouth smothered by his hand, eyes rolling back from the sheer pressure, the stretch, the heat. Your muffled cries only made him thrust harder.
“You like this, huh?” he breathed, watching your every twitch, every gasp, every time you tried to cry out under his hand. “You like when I fuck you like this.”
You nodded desperately, the pleasure building again even though your body felt like it couldn’t take more. Your skin burned, your thighs ached, but none of it mattered. Jake was everything— all you could feel, all you could hear, all you could take.
You released against him, hard, back arching as your whole body seized up and shuddered. Your vision blurred. You felt tears sting your lashes, your voice cracking beneath his hand as your second orgasm ripped through you.
He grunted, letting his hand slide away from your mouth only when your cries became soft gasps His lips found yours in a hungry, breathless kiss, tongue sliding into your mouth like he couldn’t stand even a second of distance.
“Shit,” he panted, pulling back just a little to brush his hair from his eyes. He kissed your jaw, your throat, sucking a mark just below your ear before whispering, “Turn over for me.”
You blinked up at him, dazed. “Jake, I can’t—”
“You can,” he said firmly, kissing you again. “Just one more, baby, you’re doing so good.”
And because it was him uou obeyed.
You turned, limbs shaky, chest pressed to the mattress, ass in the air as you grabbed onto the pillow and buried your face into it. Jake groaned softly behind you.
“Fuck, you look so good like this,” he muttered, dragging his fingers over your lower back, down to your ass, squeezing firmly. “Messy and fucked out… all for me.”
You felt him line himself up again, the blunt head of his cock sliding through your slick folds before pushing into you in one hard thrust that had you biting into the pillow to stifle a scream.
“Oh my God… Jake.”
“Shhh,” he hushed you, hand curling around your hip to pull you back into him, setting a brutal pace that left your legs shaking, your voice broken into helpless sobs. “You have to be quiet.”
“I can’t,” you cried into the pillow, half-laughing, half-sobbing from how good it felt, how completely he wrecked you. “Jake it’s too much—”
“You’re taking it so well,” he said, voice strained, one hand gripping your waist while the other slid up your spine, pushing between your shoulder blades to press you further into the mattress. “So fucking good for me.”
His thrusts grew rougher, deeper, dragging cries from you no matter how hard you tried to bite them back. You fisted the sheets, knuckles white, body trembling as he angled his hips just right, hitting that spot over and over again until your legs gave out.
Jake leaned down, chest against your back, his breath hot against your ear as he murmured, “You pretend to be all innocent, all shy in front of everyone… but in here? With me? You just want to be ruined.”
You moaned, louder than you meant to, and he growled, his hand flying to your mouth again, fingers pressing your cheek into the pillow.
“You don’t listen,” he hissed, thrusting harder, until the sound of skin against skin echoed through the room. “You want my mother to hear how desperate you are for my cock?”
You shook your head wildly, sobbing beneath his hand as he slammed into you again, and again, and again, until your entire body clenched and your mind blanked. One last orgasm crashed over you, white-hot and dizzying, tearing a scream from your throat that was completely muffled by his palm.
Jake groaned into your neck, biting your shoulder as he came hard, his body collapsing against yours, twitching with aftershocks as he held you tightly, his breath loud and shaky in your ear.
You both stayed like that for a moment, tangled, gasping, hearts pounding like they wanted to leap out of your chests.
Jake pulled out gently, sighing contentedly as he rolled to the side and took the condom off, tying it quickly and tossing it into the bin beside the bed.
He turned to you immediately, pulling you into his chest, wrapping his arms around your exhausted body. Your skin was damp with sweat, your legs trembling, your eyes heavy with sleep and satisfaction.
For a long moment, the only sound in the room was heavy breathing, your bodies tangled together, sweat-slicked and trembling.
Jake finally lifted his head, his dark hair sticking to his forehead, his cheeks flushed. He looked wrecked, but somehow, still devastatingly handsome.
"You okay?" he murmured, pushing your hair out of your face.
You nodded, still catching your breath. "Mh.. It was so good.”
Jake huffed a quiet laugh, leaning down to kiss your forehead. "You are a menace."
You smirked. "You love it."
"You’re exhausting," he muttered, but his arm was already tightening around you, pulling you close.
You grinned, snuggling into his chest. "You love that too."
Jake sighed, pressing a kiss to the top of your head. "Yeah," he admitted softly. "I really do."

Infostealers: What are they & far-reaching effects on data security - CyberTalk
Tumblr media Tumblr media
By Hendrik De Bruin, Security Engineer, Check Point Software Technologies.
Infostealers…ransomware’s lesser-known cousin
When it comes to malware, ransomware usually steals the limelight, largely because of the direct, devastating impact that ransomware often causes. However, ransomware’s lesser-known cousin, the “infostealer,” is slowly but surely gaining ever-more attention.
Over the last few years, we have noticed a massive increase in the usage of infostealers. In fact, some research suggests as much as 5,900% growth since 2018. Statistics also indicate that during 2023, over 10 million devices were compromised by info stealing malware, reflecting an increase of 643% over the past three years.
An infostealer is a type of malware designed to infiltrate computer systems, not for purposes of data encryption like ransomware or data deletion like “wipers”, but specifically designed to steal sensitive information.
These malicious programs exfiltrate various data, including login credentials, session cookies, financial information, and personally identifiable information (PII). After harvesting and capturing the sensitive information, the infostealer sends it back to remote servers controlled by cyber criminals.
Once cyber criminals obtain the sensitive information, it is sold on the dark web to various nefarious actors, such as “Initial Access Brokers” who use the info to facilitate larger attacks, like ransomware attacks.
Infostealers…And their real-life impact
To showcase the impact that infostealers can have and to reinforce that infostealers deserve more attention, we can look at two recent incidents: a breach reported at Ticketmaster and at a major European bank.
In both cases, malicious actors gained access to information stored at a third-party service provider called Snowflake. Snowflake offers a cloud-based data storage and analytics service, often referred to as “data-as-a-service”.
During these breaches, attackers simply used credentials — which were most likely obtained through infostealers — to access associated Snowflake accounts, leading to the sale of information belonging to more than 550 million Ticketmaster customers on the dark web.
The info was sold by a group known as “ShinyHunters”, a known player in the infostealer business that’s notorious for using legitimate credentials to obtain initial access.
The ShinyHunters group also claims to have information related to 30 million customers and 28 million credit card numbers associated with the breached banking institution.
Although we focus on these two instances here, they reflect two of at least 165 Snowflake customer accounts that were accessed by this specific threat actor using credentials harvested through infostealers.
How can organisations protect themselves?
Although there may have been various security oversights involved with the two aforementioned breaches, I believe the following three factors played the biggest role:
Another factor that often plays a role when it comes to SaaS security is the popular misconception that the Cloud Service Provider is responsible for your data in the cloud. In reality, YOU as the customer remain responsible and accountable for the security of and access control to data in the cloud.
1. Lack of end user email and browser protection – Among cyber criminals, the most popular means of malware delivery are through email and internet downloads. Not having adequate email and browser security allowed for the initial delivery of the malware.
2. Lack of endpoint protection – Endpoint devices were not properly secured against malware such as infostealers, allowing the malware to be deployed on devices.
3. Lack of SaaS security – The absence of additional security controls, such as Multi-Factor Authentication, allowed for easy access using stolen credentials.
Let’s unpack the items listed above to get a better understanding of how each played a role in the mentioned breaches.
Email and browser protection
Infostealers are typically delivered through internet downloads, phishing emails and or other social engineering attacks.
Your first line of defense for the delivery of infostealers lies in the deployment of email security and anti-phishing solutions such as Harmony Email and Collaboration, which will prevent the delivery of phishing emails and emails containing malware.
Further, should a malicious email be delivered containing a malicious link, having adequate browser protection should prevent the browser from accessing the link and malware from being downloaded.
Internet access control and browser security solutions, such as Harmony SASE Internet Access, will prevent the download of malicious files and restrict corporate password re-use on non-corporate websites.
Corporate password re-use and other password best practices
Although passwords should NEVER be used as the only means of authentication, we often still find this to be the case for various organisations and applications. NIST and other similar institutions provide various guidelines and best practices related to passwords. However, it is also important to note that other than corporate password re-use restrictions, none of these password recommendations from NIST or other similar institutions would have really offered protection from infostealers; mainly because infostealers exfiltrate cleartext passwords.
If you still rely on passwords, the following guidelines from NIST may assist you:
Increase password length – Password length matters more than complexity.
Avoid corporate password re-use – Ensuring that corporate passwords aren’t re-used for other platforms, such as social media, will keep your corporate credentials and systems protected from external credential breaches.
Breached password protection – Ensure that attempted password updates do not contain known breached passwords
Password rotation – Contrary to popular beliefs, the NIST advises against rotating passwords too often and regards 30 to 60 days as too often. Ninety days may be a fair compromise.
Endpoint protection and response
From an endpoint perspective, Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) remains as one of the primary defenses against malware such as infostealers. EDR solutions typically include both signature-based detection mechanisms as well as behaviour based detection mechanisms, which include analyses of data to detect suspicious activity, such as indicators of compromise (IOCs).
A solution like Check Point’s Harmony Endpoint leverages Check Point’s ThreatCloud; a dynamically updated service based on an innovative global network of threat sensors and organisations that share threat data. It collaboratively fights against modern malware by aggregating and analysing big data telemetry and millions of Indicators of Compromise (IoCs).
Over 50 AI-based engines analyze this data. These engines detect and neutralize novel threats, ensuring that both known and unknown threats are addressed and prevented.
Multi-factor authentication
Most Software as a Service (SaaS) offerings have multi-factor authentication available as a configurable option. If your organisation is making use of SaaS offerings, it is critical that multi-factor authentication is configured. Password authentication alone is NOT adequate and should never be used, especially not on publicly exposed SaaS applications.
Although multi-factor authentication may not have completely eliminated the chances of these breaches occurring, it would have at the very least forced far greater costs and efforts onto the attackers. These efforts would also have to involve additional threat vectors, thereby increasing the probability of detection.
The adoption of cloud services, in combination with the “hybrid workforce” has significantly increased organisations’ attack surfaces, leading to greater exposure, risk and complexities. To overcome this, organisations are looking at adopting solutions such as Zero-Trust and SASE.
Zero-Trust
Zero-Trust, at its core, revolves around the idea of NO ACCESS or ZERO ACCESS, unless we can explicitly identify the device, the individual using the device and the security posture associated with both the device and the user. Zero Trust also enforces further concepts such as “least privilege.”
Zero-Trust Network Access (ZTNA) is still often perceived as being a very costly, time consuming and difficult exercise. However, modern solutions, such as Secure Access Service Edge (SASE), really simplify the implementation of Zero Trust.
In this specific instance, SASE with Secure Internet Browsing would have prevented the download of malware or infostealers from the internet.
The deployment of SASE would also allow organisations to further secure their SaaS applications by enforcing IP address based access restrictions on the SaaS application itself.
This will ensure access to the SaaS application ONLY if the device adheres to corporate security posture restrictions and your identity have the appropriate permissions.
In Conclusion
The threat posed by infostealers deserves the same attention as that posed by ransomware, and perhaps even more so, as infostealers often serve as enablers for much larger cyber attacks and breaches.
In the past, we have observed credentials obtained from infostealers being used for initial access during other malicious activities. These stolen credentials open a broader exploitation landscape, which could include personal accounts, corporate accounts, and even infrastructure access through VPNs and cloud management interfaces.
Protection from the risks posed by infostealers require a holistic approach, bringing us back to “good ole” “defense-in-depth”.
First, prevent the initial delivery of infostealers by protecting end users from malicious emails, websites and malware via email and internet access security controls.
Secondly, should email and internet access security controls fail, having an endpoint detection and response solution deployed should prevent the infostealer from being installed on devices and/or prevent credentials from being exfiltrated.
Other controls, such as Zero-Trust frameworks and SASE, further support the concept of defense in depth by preventing access; even with adequate credentials should other factors such as geo-location, device posture and so forth not check out.
Professional services, such as penetration testing, external attack surface assessments and continuous threat exposure management can also assist in reducing the risk posed by infostealers, as they can highlight weak security controls, such as password-only authentication.

if u ever feel useless just know that this is a REAL infographic from the official tata consultancy services (tcs) website with this accompanying alt text that (for some reason) includes valuable information that was most definitely not in the original graphic:
This infographic depicts how data moves from the racetrack, where Jaguar TCS race divers Mitch Evans and Nick Cassidy are located, to the cloud, to the Jaguar TCS team base or factory. This real-time data movement helps the on-ground engineering and strategy teams to make timely interventions and finetune the set-up of their Jaguar I-TYPE 6. Time-critical data analytics at the track and the factory informs overall race strategy by powering data-driven decision-making and allows the team to predict outcomes at the track.

Hey everyone it seems there a malicious individual trying to hack the sims cc community again and fill it with malware you need to stay vigilant as a creator and a downloader so
i have some tips for both to stay safe while downloading:
1- sims cc file extension is always .Package never download anything that is .exe
2- do not auto unpack zip files and rar files into your mods folder directly, open each zip or rar individually check the file extensions and drag them to your mods folder one by one
3- the only mods that have a .ts4script extension are ones that affect gameplay or how the game works, understand that if you are downloading cas or bb items you shouldn't have a .ts4script file
4- if you are downloading gameplay mods that do have .ts4script make sure that A) the creator hasn't announced on their pages that its infected B) you are downloading from a link provided by the creator of the mods themselves not something off of google or a link you got sent and make sure dates of upload match dated of announcements
5- if the mod or cc creator has retired and hasn't posted for a while LOOK AT THE DATES OF THE UPLOAD if it has been "updated recently" after the creator has left the community its most likely re-uploaded by a hacker and infected
6- download mod gaurd by Twisted mexi and keep it updated and keep your windows defender or malware detector Program up to date and always running do not disable it
7- make sure everything you download comes from a direct link from the cc creator, in this day and age do not trust link shortners, adfly, linkverse, etc get the universal bypass extension and ublock extension to stay safe but genuinely NEVER CLICK ON THOSE no matter how much the creator reassures you its safe it. is. NOT.
8- this is more of a general saftey precaution but, create a system restore point weekly before you run the game with new mods that way if anything happens you could have a chance to restore your windows to an earlier date before you downloaded anything.
9- BACK UP YOUR SHIT im serious right now either weekly or monthly put your files somewhere safe like a usb a storage card a hard drive even an online cloud if you dont have any of the previous.
10- files you should back up are your media from games and media everything else, any mods, games saves, work files, passwords, saved bookmarks, any documents txt files word files pdfs, links you saved, brushes or actions for Photoshop if you have any, any digital bills or certificates if you have any, and keep a physical list of all programs you have installed and where you installed them from
11- turn on any 2 factor authentication and security measures for any account you have
12- google and firefox have the option to check your paswords and emails against any data leaks USE THIS FEATURE and change any leaked passwords
13- regularly check your logged in sessions to make sure all the logged in devices or computers are yours and log out any that aren't and any old devices or unused sessions do this for every website and app you have an account on if available
14- change your passwords often. I know this is a hassle i know its hard to come up with new passwords but changing your passwords every few months will help you against anything mention previously that wasn't detected.
15- and as a cc creator check your cc and the accounts you host cc on and its uplaod and update dates make sure nothing has been changed without your permission :(
16- generally try not to get swept up in the "i must get it" fever you do not need to "shop" for mods weekly or monthly you do not need to download everything by that one creator you do not need to download new cc everytime you want to make a sim, im guilty of this so i know how hard it is to resist but take a breath and think "do i want this or do i need it" before downloading.
These are prevention methods i cant claim they are 100% will prevent any hacking but its better to be safe than sorry and these do keep you safe so
Brought to you by someone who has had their laptop ruined and data leaked from downloading cc once upon a time

three point tether
Tumblr media
the reason art with ai at the creative helm will never get traction in any long term or meaningful trot is because art is more than what is in the text of the book, or notes of the song, or runtime of the movie. art is whats OUTSIDE of the medium, a performance piece between creator and experiencer
i say this all the time and i think most buckaroos think im off in the clouds as eccentric ART WEIRDO (theyre NOT WRONG) but in a practical BUSINESS sense what i am saying is true. folks want to pretend art is in some lab where art and artist and viewer are separate things. but they never will be
art exists outside of a vacuum. it is not static. it grows and lives and evolves based on culture its in and who is experiencing it. whether you know it or not, what you LIKE or DISLIKE has just as much to do with the story AROUND the art than the art itself.
you carry what you know about me to my tinglers, you carry what you know about the beatles to the beatles, you even carry what you DONT KNOW to artists and THAT changes your experience. the STORY outside of the art is unavoidable because the lack of a story is still a story
so what does this have to do with ai art? my point is, the STORY of ai generated art is potentially interesting when it FIRST happens, or when its a one of one, but when it is co-opted by corporations to make slop, or when you consider the ethics of data scraping and theft, the story becomes sour
in other words, REGARDLESS OF WHAT AI GENERATED ART ‘MAKES’, the STORY outside of the story is derivative and unethical. what is even more important, and the greatest problem of all, is that its very very BORING. ‘oh wonderful someone made a painting from a prompt CANT WAIT to dive into this world’
so fundamentally these projects from tech goofs only serve to show that they have absolutely no understanding of art in the first place. the starry night is not just a painting, it is a three point tether between van gogh, the painting and us, which is constantly breathing and moving and living
if i was to give advice to any artist about how to stand out in their field i would say this: figure out what YOUR STORY is, not just within your chosen medium, but OUTSIDE of any medium. THAT STORY is your art, and it is infinitely cosmically unique. USE IT. EMBRACE IT. that is your power buckaroo

False Security | [A.H]
Tumblr media
Pairing: Aaron Hotchner x fem!reader CW: Angst, physical abuse, kidnapping, captivity, hospital, light use of Y/N, hotch is in love with you, r is only wearing underwear, chains, morphine. WC: 2.6k
Tumblr media
The bullpen was eerily quiet for a late evening. Papers were scattered across desks, half-empty coffee cups forgotten in the rush of trying to piece together the puzzle of the case they were working on.
The tension in the conference room was palpable - each agent hunched over their work, mentally and emotionally drained from the brutal reality of the case. Every passing hour without a breakthrough weighed heavily on the team.
Garcia had moved from her tech cave to stay near the rest of the team. Something about this case, the brutality of it, had shaken her, she wasn't her usual cheerful self. Her fingers tapped anxiously against her keyboard, eyes darting between monitors, scanning data, hoping for a clue - anything that would help them find the unsub before another victim was claimed.
Hotch stood near the whiteboard, staring at the photos pinned up - the faces of victims staring back at him, haunting him. There was a pattern here; they all knew it. They could feel it. But none of them had been able to put the final piece together yet. Everyone was running on fumes.
"Garcia," Hotch’s voice broke the silence, low but with the familiar edge of urgency. "Pull up the financials again. There’s something we’re missing."
Garcia nodded, already typing, her colorful nails clicking rapidly against the keys. But even she seemed distracted, her brow furrowed in worry. She wasn’t just focused on the case anymore - she was thinking about you. About how you had been recently, about the relationship you had confided in her about a few weeks ago. A relationship that seemed to be bringing you joy, a brightness that Garcia had been happy to see. But now… something about this case was stirring up an unsettling feeling in her chest.
Reid was standing across from her, his eyes darting across the case files, muttering half-thoughts under his breath. Morgan was pacing, unable to sit still, his frustration growing with each dead end.
           Then, it happened.
Garcia’s fingers stopped, hovering above the keyboard. The silence in the room grew thicker as everyone waited for her to speak. She was staring at her screen, but the bright color had drained from her face. Slowly, almost as if she didn’t believe it herself, she turned in her chair, wide eyes meeting Hotch’s.
"Sir," her voice was trembling. "You need to see this."
Hotch’s stomach dropped at her tone, something was off. He crossed the room in quick strides, looking over her shoulder at the screen. The room held its collective breath, all eyes now on them. Garcia was scrolling through the financials, linking transactions, showing a pattern of behavior that had gone unnoticed until now. At first, it seemed like nothing out of the ordinary. Just a name, a routine list of purchases. But then it hit him. A familiar name.
Hotch froze. His heart slammed against his ribs, dread flooding his veins.
“No,” he breathed, disbelief clouding his thoughts.
Garcia turned, biting her lip. Her fingers trembled as she pointed to the screen. “It’s him, Sir,” she whispered, her voice cracking. “It’s… it’s (Y/N)'s boyfriend.”
The words hung in the air, heavy, suffocating. Everyone stared, the weight of Garcia’s revelation hitting them like a freight train. Morgan stopped pacing, Reid’s muttering ceased, and Rossi’s eyes darkened as he stood from his desk.
"Are you sure?" Hotch’s voice was low, but the tension in his tone was unmistakable.
Garcia nodded, tears brimming in her eyes. “I cross-referenced his name with the locations. He fits every single one of the victim’s timelines, and… the patterns match. It’s him, Hotch.”
For a moment, no one moved. It was as if the very air in the room had thickened, weighing them all down. Hotch felt as though the ground had been pulled out from under him. His chest tightened painfully, his mind racing with fear and anger. How could they have missed this? How could he have missed this?
Morgan was the first to break the silence, his voice sharp and filled with disbelief. “Wait, (Y/N)’s dating this guy?” His eyes darted between Garcia and Hotch, trying to piece it together. “How long has this been going on?”
“A couple of months,” Garcia whispered, guilt washing over her at the mere fact that she knew about your relationship. “She… she didn’t want anyone to know. But… I thought he was just a regular guy.”
Rossi was already moving toward his phone. "Has anyone contacted her?"
Hotch’s blood ran cold. He reached for his phone, his fingers fiddling slightly as he dialed your number. It rang once. Twice. Three times. Straight to voicemail.
Panic settled in his chest like a stone.
“Garcia, try to ping her phone,” he ordered his voice tight, betraying the rising anxiety within him.
“I’m on it,” she replied, her fingers moving across the keyboard in a blur. The seconds dragged on like hours as she tried to locate your phone. When she finally spoke again, her voice was quiet, barely above a whisper. “It’s off.”
Morgan swore under his breath, his fists clenched. “We have to find her. Now.”
Hotch felt a surge of terror, unlike anything he’d ever experienced before. His thoughts were racing— Where were you? Were you okay? Did you even know what kind of danger you were in? The idea that the person you had trusted, had been intimate with, was the same monster they were hunting - it made his skin crawl. And now, they couldn’t reach you.
Garcia's voice broke through the haze. “I’ve got his phone,” she said, her voice shaking with urgency. “It’s pinging at a location near the docks - an old warehouse district.”
Hotch didn’t waste another second. He was out the door before anyone could speak, his mind focused on one thing - finding you. His heart pounded in his chest, each step toward the SUV filled with the weight of everything that had been left unsaid between you two. He couldn’t lose you. Not like this.
Tumblr media
The warehouse loomed ahead, its shadowy silhouette stark against the faint glow of the city. Inside, the darkness was suffocating, every echo, every creak of the metal beams overhead seeming to mock the haste coursing through Hotch's veins. He moved quickly, his heart pounding in his chest as he led the team deeper into the labyrinth of hallways and empty rooms, desperate to find you before it was too late.
The dread that had been building since Garcia's revelation gnawed at him with every step. The idea that you, his agent, the person he trusted and admired, had been caught in the web of this monster - he couldn’t wrap his mind around it. It felt personal in a way that made his throat tighten, made his focus even sharper. This wasn’t just a case anymore; it was about you, about saving you from someone who had fooled them into a false security.
A soft, muffled whimper reached his ears, freezing him in place. It was faint but unmistakable. His breath hitched as he sprinted toward the sound, every part of him terrified of what he might find. He shoved open a rusted metal door, and the sight that greeted him ripped the air from his lungs.
There you were, barely recognizable, hanging limply by your wrists, your arms shackled high above your head. The light flickered, casting shadows over your bruised and battered body. You were gagged, your face pale and streaked with tears, your eyes barely open, glazed with pain and fear. Your skin was marred with fresh bruises, and all you were left wearing was your underwear - vulnerable, exposed, and utterly broken.
Hotch’s world tilted. He had faced horrors in his career, and seen things that haunted his dreams, but nothing compared to the sight of you, the person he had come to care for, reduced to this.
For a split second, all he could do was stand there, frozen by the crushing wave of guilt and anger crashing over him. How could he have let this happen? How had he not seen it, not realized who the unsub was?
“Morgan!” Hotch's voice was sharp. “Find him. Now.” He couldn't be far away Hotch thought to himself.
Without waiting for a reply, Hotch crossed the room to you, his hands trembling as he reached up to unchain your wrists. You collapsed into his arms, your body weak and trembling from the strain. He held you close, his jacket already off and wrapping around your shivering form. His chest tightened painfully as he felt just how cold you were, how fragile you felt in his arms.
“I’ve got you,” he whispered, his voice raw with emotion. “You’re safe now.”
You stirred, barely able to focus, but the sound of his voice - his voice - cut through the haze of terror that had clouded your mind. Your eyes fluttered open, a tear slipping down your cheek as you realized it was him. You tried to speak, but the gag choked you, the duct tape biting into your skin.
Hotch's fingers were delicate as he reached up to remove the tape. Every inch he peeled back felt agonizingly slow, each movement careful, as if he were terrified of causing you more pain. His eyes never left yours, the guilt and worry etched deep into his features.
When the gag finally came loose, you gasped, drawing in shaky breaths as your mouth was freed. Your voice came out in a weak rasp, “Aaron…”
“Shh,” he murmured, brushing the hair from your face with a tenderness that made your chest ache. “It’s okay. I’m here now.”
But you could see it in his eyes. The guilt. The anger. It radiated off him, a storm barely contained beneath the surface. He blamed himself, you knew that much. And though you wanted to tell him it wasn’t his fault, that he couldn’t have known, your voice was too weak, your body too drained.
Hotch wrapped his arms tighter around you, his face buried in your hair as he whispered, “I’m so sorry. I should’ve been there sooner.”
His words broke something inside you, a sob tearing from your throat despite your exhaustion. You wanted to tell him that it wasn’t his fault, that you didn’t blame him, but all you could do was cling to him, your body shaking against his.
You had been so close to losing everything - to never seeing him again. And now, in the safety of his arms, the adrenaline began to fade, leaving behind the raw emotion and terror that you had been holding back.
“I’ve got you,” he whispered again, his voice barely a rasp. He held you tighter as if he could shield you from the world, from the pain, from everything you had just endured.
He didn’t care about protocol, didn’t care that he was supposed to be in control, to remain objective. All he cared about was you, about getting you out of there and keeping you safe.
When the paramedics arrived, Hotch didn’t let go. He carried you to the ambulance himself, refusing to leave your side for even a moment. The other agents worked around him, searching for your captor, but Hotch didn’t care about anything else right now. He stayed by your side as you were lifted into the ambulance, sitting beside you, his hand holding yours as if it was the only thing anchoring him to reality.
Tumblr media
The soft, sterile lighting of the hospital room contrasted with the cold, harsh reality of what had just happened. The beeping machines were rhythmic and steady, peaceful, a constant reminder that you were alive, even though the events leading up to this moment had been anything but peaceful.
Hotch sat beside your bed, his hand wrapped protectively around yours, his thumb brushing back and forth along your knuckles in a soothing motion. He hadn’t left your side since they’d arrived at the hospital. The team had stayed behind to deal with the crime scene and the unsub, but Hotch had only one priority: you. His suit jacket now hung loosely on the back of his chair, as your bruised body had been hidden away by the hospital gown.
You shifted slightly in the bed, your eyes fluttering open but still hazy from the morphine coursing through your veins. The medication had dulled the pain but also left you in a dreamy, disoriented state. Everything felt far away, like you were underwater, and the world around you was muffled. But there was one constant, something anchoring you to reality - Hotch.
“Hotch…” your voice was barely above a whisper, the name slipping from your lips without much strength behind it. You tried to sit up, but your body protested, still sore and weak. Hotch’s grip on your hand tightened gently, his other hand pressing softly against your shoulder to keep you from moving too much.
“Shh, don’t try to move. The doctor said you need to rest,” he said, his voice low and calm, but underneath it was a storm of emotions - relief, fear, anger. He tried to keep it together for you, but seeing you like this - bruised, shaken, and vulnerable - it broke something inside him.
You blinked up at him, trying to focus. His face came into view, a mixture of exhaustion and concern etched into his features. “You... you came for me,” you mumbled, your words slightly slurred from the medication, but the gratitude in your tone was unmistakable.
Hotch’s heart clenched at the sound of your voice, so small and fragile. He brought your hand up to his lips, pressing a soft kiss to your knuckles. “Of course I did,” he murmured, his voice thick with emotion. “I’ll always come for you.”
You smiled faintly, the corners of your lips tugging upwards despite the pain and exhaustion. There was something about his presence that made everything feel just a little bit better, a little safer.
Your eyes flickered around the room before landing back on him, and with a sleepy giggle, you whispered, “You look so serious, Hotch.”
A soft chuckle escaped him, the sound rare but welcome, especially given the circumstances. “Someone has to be,” he teased, though his voice was still gentle. He brushed a stray strand of hair away from your face, his touch feather-light. “You’ve been through a lot.”
You hummed, your eyelids growing heavy again, but you fought to stay awake, to stay in this moment with him. “Feel so... floaty,” you mumbled, your words trailing off slightly. The medication was pulling you back under again.
Hotch smiled softly, watching as you struggled to keep your eyes open. “That’s the morphine. It’s okay to rest, you’re safe now.”
For a moment, you simply stared up at him, your eyes glazed but full of warmth. “You’re always so... good to me,” you slurred, your voice thick with drowsiness. “Don’t know what I’d do without you…”
His heart ached at your words. He couldn’t imagine what you had gone through, only what he already knew the unsub usually would have done, but the thought of you feeling alone or scared crushed him. “You don’t have to worry about that,” he said, his voice barely above a whisper. “I’m not going anywhere.”
You gave him a sleepy nod, your head lolling slightly to the side. “I know,” you mumbled, your voice fading as sleep finally began to pull you under.
Hotch leaned forward, brushing a gentle kiss against your forehead. He didn’t care that the hospital staff had insisted he take a break or go home and get some rest. He wasn’t leaving your side, not tonight. Not until he was absolutely sure you were okay.
As your breathing evened out and your body relaxed into the bed, he sat back, watching you with a mix of compassion and sadness. Seeing you like this, so vulnerable and hurt, made him feel more helpless than he ever had before.
